The Utah Chapter IAAO was selected as the International Chapter of the Year!

The Utah Chapter of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) serves as an educational and networking resource for public property appraisers and their staff throughout the state of Utah. We strive to follow the mission of our parent organization to promote innovation and excellence in property appraisal, assessment administration, and property tax policy through professional development, education, research, and technical assistance.   Founded in 1965, the Utah Chapter of the IAAO also strives to:

• Promote uniform and equitable principles of assessment through professionalism;
• Educate the public on the importance of the work performed by assessing officers;
• Improve assessment standards through education and modern methods of efficient technology;
• Promote professional designations through our organization; and
• Better serve Utah taxpayers  

I read a quote once that said “As in any professional business venture, the more educated you are about the service you provide, the better you will be able to serve your clients, and that’s a win-win situation!”  As the Utah Chapter of the IAAO continues to grow into 2012, we are striving for this ‘win-win situation’. We are continuing our work with other professional organizations throughout the state so that we can provide our members, along with other assessment and appraisal professionals, with the education and resources that will improve their skills and abilities to better serve our clients, the Utah tax payers.  

Here in Utah we know we have a great professional organization and this is a great way to network with many other professionals in our industry.
