DESIGNATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Utah Chapter Designation Scholarship Fund was established to help qualified IAAO members pursue and
achieve an IAAO designation. The Scholarship consists of up to $500 cash re-imbursement to selected applicants
who successfully complete the requirements and are awarded an IAAO designation. The purpose of the award is
to encourage assessent professionals to attain a higher level of proficiency and to receive recognition for their
efforts in attaining a professional designation. Scholarships will be awarded each year during the annual chapter
awards banquet. Applications must be received by January 31 each year. Utah Chapter IAAO members interested
in applying for a Scholarship should read the following requirements and conditions. Scholarship Application
Eligibility Requirements
1. Be a member of the Utah Chapter of the IAAO
2. Demonstrate a need for a scholarship on both academic and financial grounds
3. Submit the required application form by January 31, including a statement of expenses incurred / to
be incurred for: Candidacy fees (initial fee and 1 renewal maximum), required course fees, course
materials/books, or 1st year designee dues, which are not paid for by any other organization or entity.
Scholarship Conditions
1. Scholarships are only awarded to members for attendance at IAAO courses required for a
designation, candidacy fees or the 1st year designee dues, not reimbursed by any other agency.
Candidates already in progress are eligible.
2. Scholarship requests may be made in any requested amount up to a maximum award of $500 per
award for any on recipient.
3. Scholarship recipients must complete the IAAO requirements and receive designation before they will
receive a check from the Utah Chapter of the IAAO for the awarded amount.
4. Scholarship recipients are eligible to receive only one award per designation.
5. Only one applicant from any one assessment office may be awarded a scholarship in any calendar
year.
6. Successful applicants who subsequently decline the scholarship must reapply for future
consideration.
7. The number of awards given will be restricted by the available Scholarship funds.
The Utah Chapter Designation Scholarship Fund Committee will make all final selections and notify recipients. Selections will be based on the applications, amount of aid requested, funds available, and other factors as
determined by the committee. Cash disbursement for all awards given each year may not exceed income available
